In regards to fly fishing in BC, our northern winters allow us time to take stock of what we have, replenish supplies, re-organize tackle boxes and plan for this year's fishing trips. If you are like me, you took your fishing gear out of your vehicle after your final trip and put it into hiding for next season. Let me tell you, next season is almost here!

The basic rule of getting a replacement battery is that it should have the same voltage as the original. An 18V drill cannot run on a 12V battery. It can only run on a 18V battery. The other thing is that the physical packaging of a battery can be different from company to company. A 12V Ryobi battery may not fit into a 12V Makita cordless drill unless the battery has the right physical dimensions. So make sure the replacement battery looks the same as the old one before you order it. Also, if you are looking for a replacement battery of the same voltage rating and by the same company, know that battery technology is changing rapidly. An 18V lithium-ion battery has a different physical packaging than a NiCad 18V battery.

There are two things that kill a notebook battery; heat and operating outside its voltage specifications, overcharge or undercharge in plain English. They are easy to avoid if you can identify the sources. Heat has two big group of players internal sources such as the processor graphics card hard disk drive and the internal lithium battery stocks resistance of the battery itself.

Once charging is complete unplug it. Do not leave it connected to the power. Even though it is charging no more, it can heat up your battery and decrease the battery life.

External power supply delivers power the motors. Power supply to micro controller circuit board should be Lithium battery stocks separate and powered by computer universal serial bus USB Universal Serial Bus connection. Both power supplies ground connections must be in common to each other, for the servo motors to function properly.

External effects can be a radiator in your room or direct sunlight, or just simply a mind boggling ambient temperature. Not too many people have 40 C in their room all year long, but what about internal heat sources? If you use your notebook from AC power, you're keeping it fully charged, which it doesn't fancy, and on about 40C.

So how long does it last? Anything from 3 to 9 years if you search this question on Google. Everyone has a different opinion. In my experience about 6 years is the average. It's basically a large watch battery and is constantly supplying a trickle of power to the motherboard. Just like many of my watches the battery can last 2 years or up to 6 years (Fossil watches don't seem to last long for me for some reason). How long was the PC in the warehouse before it was delivered? And, how long was the motherboard in the warehouse before it was installed in the PC?

So, there you have it; some simple suggestions on how to extend the life of your cell phone battery. Although it's not a going to double or triple the life of your battery, following these guidelines will make it much easier on you and cause less aggravation in the long run.
